New Buick LaCrosse GL Concept gets All Dressed up for the LA Auto Show


You'll have to look really hard to see what's conceptual about Buick's latest study that's based on the 2012 LaCrosse sedan and which will go on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16 through 27.

That's because the LaCrosse GL Concept is more of a luxed-up version of the standard model than anything else.

David Lyon, Buick's executive director of design explains: “The design cues that already distinguish the production LaCrosse – such as the premium leather-upholstered seats, ice blue ambient lighting and soft touch surfaces – are amplified in the GL and serve as inspiration for future Buick models.”

Buick Launces eAssist Version of LaCrosse in China



The LaCrosse, Buick’s mid-size sedan offering, is doing quite well in China with 215,000 deliveries in the first seven months of the year alone. Now General Motors is adding the eAssist mild-hybrid version to the LaCrosse's Chinese line-up and is taking orders in 25 pilot cities, with the first cars scheduled for delivery in September. GM Recalls 2012 Chevy Impala and Buick LaCrosse Over Separate Issues



General Motors announced today that it is recalling 11,905 2012MY Chevrolet Impala and 4,293 MY2012 Buick LaCrosse sedans sold in the US and in Canada over two separate issues.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, the 2012 Impala recall affects certain cars manufactured from April 19, 2011 through July 29, 2011 and concerns the installation of the power steering hose. If misplaced, the hose could be damaged and leak power steering fluid onto the engine compartment and the catalytic converter, with the risk of a fire.

Buick LaCrosse with eAssist Promises 37 Mpg on the Highway


Starting this summer, Buick will offer the 4-cylinder LaCrosse sedan with the eAssist micro-hybrid technology as standard. The LaCrosse eAssist uses a variety of systems and body modifications to deliver an estimated fuel economy rating of 37 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in the city (pending EPA certification).

Software Glitch Causes HVAC Problems on 2011MY Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac SRX Models


In the latest round of safety recalls, General Motors has issued a warning on certain 2011MY Buick LaCrosse sedans and Cadillac SRX crossovers due to a software glitch that may disable the driver’s ability to adjust the settings on the hearing, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Buick's LaCrosse gets a Daewoo Badge, Heads to Korea


GM just announced that it will be bringing the Chevrolet brand to Korea, and now it looks like the General will be bringing Buick over as well in the form of a re-badged LaCrosse.

The Daewoo Alpheon, a LaCrosse in everything but name, recently debuted at at the Busan Motor Show. Powered by GM's 3.0 liter V6 and hooked up to a six-speed automatic transmission, the Alpheon is meant to be "a stand-alone luxury product brand in GM Daewoo's product portfolio".
