Lamborghini to "Surprise" us at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show as well

On Wednesday, an official source from within the VW Group more or less confirmed the debut of a luxury SUV concept from Lamborghini at the Beijing Auto Show in China in April.

Today we learn that the Sant'Agata sports car maker has yet another "surprise" in store for us, this time at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.

The news comes from an email statement from a Lamborghini spokesperson after the crew over at GT Spirit asked the company about the rumors circulating around the web. Here's what the press representative answered:

Lamborghini Source Allegedly Confirms Plans for an SUV Concept

There's more news coming out today from Lamborghini in concern of the Italian firm's future plans after its CEO Stephan Winkelmann rejected the use of turbocharged engines at least until the end of the decade, earlier this week.

Today, we learned that a senior source at Lamborghini's parent company, Audi, has confirmed reports on the development of a luxury SUV concept that is pegged to make its world premiere at the Beijing motor show in late April.

Lamborghini to Roll Out More Limited Production Supercars like the Sesto Elemento

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman surprised everyone when, on the eve of the Frankfurt Motor Show, announced that the Italian company would put the impressive Sesto Elemento concept into production.

The carbon fibre-bodied Sesto Elemento is powered by a 570HP V10 and, thanks to its low weight of 999 kg (2,202 pounds), accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.5 seconds.

Now, if you thought that this was a surprise, here comes another one: Winkelmann revealed that the very limited-production Sesto Elemento (20 units) is only the beginning.

Lamborghini Confirms Limited Production Run of the Sesto Elemento

The Gallardo Super Trofeo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale may have been the center of attention at Lamborghini's press event in Frankfurt, but the Italian company had another surprise under its sleeve as it announced that the stunning Sesto Elemento concept would enter a limited production.

The Sesto Elemento was unveiled at last year’s Paris Motor Show as a showcase for Lamborghini’s technological innovations. The automaker had then denied speculation that it was the Gallardo’s replacement or a new addition to its range.

Lamborghini Frankfurt Motor Show Invitation Hints at New Supercar Model?

What is claimed to be an official press invitation from Lamborghini for the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in the form of an image that was allegedly sent through email is making the internet rounds today.

The invitation reads: "Discover a new Lamborghini super sports car at the next Frankfurt Motor Show. Press conference 13/09/11, 12:45, Lamborghini stand at IAA."

We can't be 100 percent sure about its authenticity, but if real, it raises the question what will this new "Lamborghini super sports car" be? The answer could be anything from the production version of the evil-looking Sesto Elemento and either a roadster or a more extreme version of the new Aventador, or perhaps a different concept model altogether. eBay Find: Luigi Colani’s 1970 Lamborghini Miura Le Mans Concept Car

Unveiled in 1970, the Lamborghini Miura Le Mans was an out-of-this-world concept car, envisioned by legendary Italian designer, Luigi Colani. According to Colani’s website, the design study was a “two-part hybrid car”, with a Miura chassis rear section and front passenger cabin designed “like the cockpit of a glider”.

Say Again? Lamborghini Sesto Elemento up for Sale in Germany...

Unless we're missing something here or we've somehow managed to imitate Marty McFly and travel into the future, Lamborghini's Paris Motor Show Sesto Elemento lightweight supercar remains a one-off concept model - at least officially and for now.

That said, we find it hard to explain the sale of the car by German luxury and supercar dealer, Auto Salon Singen, on Mobile.de. In the description, the alleged seller claims that Lamborghini will build 10 examples of the Sesto Elemento, but they won't be street legal. The price of the... future supercar is set at €2,261,900 including 19% VAT (tax), or just shy of US$3 million. Any explanation(s) are welcome.

Lamborghini SUV is a No-Go, But the Estoque Sports Saloon is Back on the Table

Last month the internet was on fire after Auto Express started to spread a rumor about the revival of the Lamborghini LM002. However, as we noted in our article, the story sounded a bit off. For a proper Lambo SUV, the Audi Q5 platform would be too small, a V8 engine not noble enough and the £100,000 (US $156,080) price tag a tad low. That’s why we didn't put much credence in the rumor.

It turns out we were right to take it with a grain of salt as Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, told British magazine Autocar that the Italian maker would give the green light to a four-door saloon inspired by the Estoque concept car.

Paris Preshow: Lamborghini's 999kg Sesto Elemento Concept Revealed [Updated]

[Updated with New Images] These are the first full-blown pictures of the concept car Lamborghini has been teasing Ford Explorer-style for a little while now. It's called the Sesto Elemento (Sixth Element) and, according to Carscoop sources, it is powered by the Gallardo Superleggera's 5.2-liter V10.

Riding on center-locking wheels (seen in one of the teasers), the Superleggera's 570-horsepower mill pushes the car to 100km/h (62mph) in 2.5 seconds. That's nearly a second faster than the rocket ship-like Superleggera, all thanks to a massive reduction in weight.

Lamborghini Paris Show Supercar Teaser No5 - It's Almost Over...

And yes, Lamborghini has just released teaser image number five of the as of yet unnamed supercar model that will make its world premiere in Paris this week. Lamborghini Navarra Concept Study Penned by Lockheed Martin Designer

Most young designers these days appear to have the hots for anything related to Lamborghini. After the Cnossus, Minotauro, Miura Nuovo, Conquisto, Furia and Toro LA690-4 - just to mention some of the Lamborghini design concepts we've shown you the past few months, here comes yet another proposal for a Raging Bull model, this time from American Adam Denning who happens to be a designer for Lockheed Martin USA.

Lamborghini Cnossus Concept Design - What do you Think?

This here is the Lamborghini Cnossus, a design study for a supercar concept named after the ancient Greek city of Cnossus (Knossus) on the island of Crete. The eye-catching Cnossus was designed by Russian student Victor Filipchenko with the help of his Portuguese colleague Nelson Simoes as part of their final thesis project at Italy's Scuola Politecnica di Design.

The designers claim to have been inspired by the Lamborghini Countach, though it is evident that the edgy styling of the limited production Reventon special also played a role in the design of the Cnossus Concept. You can check out the rest of the pictures and share your thoughts on the design of the Lamborghini concept in the comments sections right after the jump.

2020 Lamborghini Minotauro Design Concept: Yes, Please

Andrei Avarvarii, a student getting his Master's degree at Milan's Scuola Politecnica di Design, designed this tasty electric Lamborghini concept. With assistance from Lamborghini Design head Filippo Perini, he used a "soft design language" in penning the Minotauro.

The concept would use four electric motors and split the power 30%/70% front to rear. A Li-Tec flat-cell battery out back and a KERS system in the front would be providing the power.

The press release goes on to explain the bonus of no big, bad V12 out back: "The absence of a big V12 engine in the rear creates enough room for a third passenger in a central position." That's right, seating for three.

Lamborghini Miura Nuovo Design Study: Something Old, Something New

The name Miura conjures up images of Lamborghini's original V12 bad boy, considered one of the most beautiful cars in history. Even Lamborghini couldn't ignore it forever, bringing it back in modernized concept form in 2006. Marco van Overbeeke, a designer from the Holland, is determined to bring it back.

Enter the Lamborghini Miura Nuovo, meant to be a "contemporary interpretation of [a] traditional archetype"; that means a mid-rear V12 with seating for two. Could something like this work as a new Lamborghini halo car?

If consumers had anything to say about it, the answer's probably yes. People DID dish out exorbitant amounts of dough for the Reventon, re-skinned Murcielago.
